Required Training

The courses listed below are all required by federal, state, or municipal regulations


Required training per OSHA standard 1910.157. Where the employer has provided portable fire extinguishers for employee use in the workplace, the employer shall also provide an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting. The employer must provide:

  • initial training
  • at least annual refresher training
  • training when changes occur

Required training per OSHA standard 1910.1200 and 1926.59 if hazardous chemicals have been identified as a hazard at the worksite the employer must provide:

  • initial training
  • training when changes occur

Required training per The HIPPA Privacy Rule located at 45 CFR Part 160 and Subparts A and E of Part 164 (more specifically CFR Part 164.530):

(b)(1) Standard: Training. A covered entity must train all members of its workforce on the policies and procedures with respect to protected health information required by this subpart and subpart D of this part, as necessary and appropriate for the members of the workforce to carry out their functions within the covered entity. 

(b)(2) summary: 

  • initial training
  • training when material changes occur in policies and/or procedures

Per the OSHA act of 1970 Section 5:

(a)Each employer —

  (1)

shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees;

  (2)

shall comply with occupational safety and health standards promulgated under this Act.

(b)

Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to this Act which are applicable to his own actions and conduct.


Required training per OSHA standard 1910.1025 if lead been identified as a hazard at the worksite the employer must provide:

  • initial training
  • training when changes occur
  • at least annual refresher training

Required training per OSHA standard 1910.1030 if bloodborne pathogens have been identified as a hazard at the worksite the employer must provide:

  • initial training
  • training when changes occur
  • at least annual refresher training

Per OSHA standard 1910.1030 if bloodborne pathogens have been identified as a hazard at the worksite the employer must provide:

  • initial training
  • training when changes occur
  • at least annual refresher training

Per OSHA standard 1910.1001 and 1926.1101 if asbestos has been identified as a hazard at the worksite the employer must provide:

  • initial training
  • training when changes occur
  • at least annual refresher training

Per OSHA standard 1926.62, Lead if lead has been identified as a hazard at the worksite the employer must provide:

  • initial training
  • training when changes occur
  • at least annual refresher training
